Railroad Fares


    Did you ever wonder how much it used to cost to ride a train "Way back when?" Well, here's a 1961 New Haven Railroad Flyer with a fare table. The New Haven operated in the Northeastern United States.

    In the first picture the column on the left (the one with the paragraphs of text) represents the inside fold of the flyer. The column on the right (the one with the locomotive) is on the back of the flyer. NOTE: The front of the flyer, not shown here, is the same as the right hand column.

    The second picture shows the fare table. The fare table consumed all three leafs on the inside of the flyer.
