The NRHS Service Mark (emblem) is the registered service
mark of the National Railway Historical Society, and it is
to be used only with the permission of the Society.
A. Usage Authorized:
1. Active NRHS Chapters: Active chapters have permission
to use the NRHS Service Mark for promotion of the chapter
it its events, event handouts, and similar application.
2. Chapters hosting NRHS Conventions: After award of the
convention by the Board of Directors, host chapters have permission
to use the NRHS Service Mark for all promotion and documentation
of convention events and activities.
3. Chapters hosting Board of Directors Meetings: After award
of the Board meeting by the Board of Directors, host chapters
have permission to use the NRHS Service Mark for all promotion
and documentation of Boad meeting events and activities.
B. Restrictions on use of Service Mark:
1. Individuals, includign NRHS Members, may use the NRHS
Service Mark only with specific advance written permission
of the Society.
2. Organizations and companies that are not active NRHS Chapters
may use the NRHS Service Mark only with specific advance written
permission of the Society.
3. The NRHS Service Mark may be reproduced on merchandise
intended for sale only with specific advance written permission
of the Society.
4. Chapters going on Inactive status or leaving the Society,
individuals who are no longer Members in Good Standing, and
organizations and companies terminating business relationships
with the NRHS immeidately forfeit any previously granted authorization
to use the NRHS Service Mark.
5. Use of the NRHS Service Mark is STRICTLY PROHIBITED at
any event or on any document that lobbies for legislation,
supports a policitical candidate, or in any other activity
inappropriate for a 501(c)(3) tax emempt organization, or
for any fradulent, illegal, or immoral purpose. This restriciton
also applies to any letter of notice written on a chapter
letterhead on which the NRHS Service Mark appears and to any
Internet page or website on which the NRHS Service Mark appears.
6. In any authorized use, the NRHS Service Mark must be reproduced
intact, unaltered, and in the proper alighenment.
C. Access to Service:
1. To obtain camera ready copies of the NRHS Service Mark
in various sizes, contact the NRHS National Office.
2. For questions regarding authorized use and for permission
