Board of Directors Meetings
General
Information
The NRHS is governed
by a Board of Directors which consists of one Director from
each NRHS Chapter. A director is elected according to Chapter
by-laws and member represents the Chapter's interest at the
National Organization. This position is often referred to as
a National Director.
The Board of Directors
of the NRHS manages the and administers the operations of the
National Organization, and elects the National Officers of the
Organization such as President, etc. This body also approves
applications for new Chapters.
The Board of Directors
meets three times a year. One meeting is usually held in conjunction
with the National Convention
which is usually hosted by a NRHS Chapter in the summer.
The other two meetings
are also hosted by an NRHS Chapter over a weekend, one each
in the summer and fall. These meetings typically have railroad
history activities on Friday and Saturday, including a banquet
Saturday night, with the official Board Meeting occurring on
Sunday morning that lasts about four hours.
