#3 -- Metrolink Light Rail Shop Tour and Excursion Wednesday,
June 20 - 9:00am-11:30am (Bus departs hotel at 8:30am) - Ticket

Metrolink, St. Louis'
light rail transit system, will be opening its approximately 20-mile
Metro East extension in May of 2001. The new line runs from downtown
St. Louis to Belleville, Illinois. Unlike the original line from
East St. Louis to Lambert-St. Louis airport, which opened in 1993,
the Metro East line combines a big-city look with a definite rural
flavor as it runs through the bluffs and climbs out of the Mississippi
River valley.
For this event we will
tour one of Metrolink's shop facilities and then board a charter
train for a private trip over the new line from downtown St. Louis
to the terminus at Southwestern Illinois College. The morning
schedule leaves plenty of time to participate in other convention
events afterwards.

#4 -- Museum of Transportation
Wabash Frisco&Pacific Live Steam Railroad -- Wednesday,
June 20 - Ticket Price $40 (First bus leaves hotel at 8:00am.
Last bus leaves Museum at 5:00pm.)

with buses running continuously between the Convention Hotel,
Museum and WF&P.
- Lunch included
- Special dedication
of a landmark plaque for the Museum's tunnel.

special exhibits, special tours for NRHS members at the
Museum.

#9 -- Railfan & Railroad Magazine Night Photo Session -
Thursday, June 21 - Ticket Price $45 - (Bus leaves hotel at
9:30pm. Return around 11:30pm )
Location
and Equipment: Plans are to photograph two exhibits. First will
be the Union Pacific Challenger. Photographers will be required
to sign a release to be allowed off the bus to photograph at
the Union Pacific site. The evening will conclude with photographs
at the Museum of Transport.
