The Summer Board of Directors (BOD)/Convention Meeting was held at the Mountainside in in Williams, AZ.

• Meeting convened at 1:02 pm.
• Tributes were paid and a moment of silence was observed for two long-time, dedicated members Hugh Gibb and Rich Carlson.
• Minutes from the Spring 2002 meeting were approved.
• Jeff Smith was confirmed as new NRHS Bulletin Editor
• Don Bishop was appointBODed as Historian.
• A variety of reports were given by Officers and Service Directors.
• Wes Ross announced that the NRHS is now a full partner with Operation Lifesaver, www.oli.org.
• BOD approved the addition of a Student Membership category with discounted national membership dues of $10.00 for those under 18 years of age.
• BOD approved the formalization of a permanent, dedicated fund for the Railway Heritage Grants program.
• Meeting adjourned at 3:15 pm
