Annual NRHS Convention Information

General Information

The NRHS Annual Convention is a highly visible NRHS function. Each year several hundred members gather in a place of railroading significance, and the results are publicized nationwide. From prominent guest speakers to local area tours to spectacular rail excursions, there's enjoyment for everyone at an NRHS Convention, including non-rail activities.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT PRE-REGISTRATION & REGISTRATION: In order to assist us in accurately planning for the convention in terms of total numbers of attendees and to control costs, we will offer a pre-registration period for the convention to NRHS members. Persons who pre-register for the convention will receive in the mail a convention registration packet. Persons who pre-register will receive the earliest, best possible opportunity to purchase tickets for convention events. There is a nominal, non-refundable, pre-registration fee that also counts as the convention registration fee in whole or in part.

Pre-registration is not required, but it is in your best interest to do so if you are planning to come to the convention. NRHS members who do not wish to pre-register may write us and ask us to send you a convention information, which will be mailed to you approximately 30 days after the convention information is mailed to those who do choose to pre-register. Based on past conventions, by that time many of the most popular events are sold out.

You must register (or pre-register) in order to participate in convention events. Registration will cost at least $5.00 more than pre-registration.

NOTE: One registration (or pre-registration) is required per family (a family member is defined as an individual living in the same household as the purchaser). Until ticket sales are open to the general public, tickets sales are limited to those who are appropriately registered, and their family members. Convention rules require you at the time of purchase to provide the name and membership number (except for immediate family members) for each participant for whom a ticket is being purchased, and that those individuals be appropriately registered or pre-registered. Until regular registration opens, members not pre-registered, except those living in the same household, cannot purchase tickets as part of another members' order.
