    Union Pacific Centennials

Union Pacific DDA40X "Centennial" No. 6924 leads an east bound UP freight over Sherman Hill west of Cheyenne, Wyoming in October 1978. The 47 DDA40X diesels were built to special order for UP between 1969 and 1971, and were the largest and most powerful diesels ever built. Only one DDA40X is currently on UP's roster, No. 6936, which is used for director specials and special events.
