Here is a list of Train Watching Parks/Platforms that we know about. If you know of one, please let us know. This list is for more than just city parks located next to the tracks or stations, but rather locations geared specifically or at least in part for railfans.   • Deshler, OH
  • The Portola Railroad Museum , Portola, CA
  • Horseshoe Curve National Historical Landmark, Altoona, PA
  • Galitzin, PA
  • Rochelle, IL
  • Flatonia, TX on the Sunset Route. Covered Pavilion at the junction. ADA compliant. SP Tower # 3 preserved 2 blocks east.
  • Macungie, PA (west of Allentown, PA ) where Route 100 crosses the NS.
  • Mojave Narrows, in Victorville, CA is definitely trackside (here's from the hill above, looking down to the "flyover" at Frost. the site has tent camping, full hookups, several lakes with fishing, paddle boats for rent, horse riding for rent, playgrounds, and plenty of picnic areas.   • Natural Tunnel, VA which is a Virginia State Park. It is located at Duffields, VA, near Gate City, a mile off U.S. Route 23. There is no charge to walk down to the tunnel, however if you take the chairlift there is a $3.00 round trip charge. There is a visitors center and gift shop at the site, above the tunnel. There is also a snack bar here. From the platform you can view trains exiting or entering the Natural Tunnel, or the man-made tunnel which is about 100 feet to the west. There are about a dozen trains a day, both Norfolk Southern and CSX, mostly coal trains. CSX coal train usually have rear-end helpersm NS trains do not.   • Railroad Park, operated by the City of Tehachapi, is located adjacent to 209 E. Tehachapi Blvd., Tehachapi, CA.
